Versus Nikon Z 400 4.5
I tested the lens sharpness and bokeh against the most comparable lens that I own - the Nikon Z-Series 400 4.5. While the 400 is sharper, I sincerely could not tell the difference in the center until zooming into 200%. The edges of the 300PF are noticeably softer, and the 300 PF also has a slight vignette when shot wide-open. At the end of the day, I am not completely convinced that anyone will notice a practical difference in the field. This is quite impressive when considering that the 300 PF is a 10-year old F-mount lens.
